Jay Riccomini is a 19-year-old Slopestyle Big Air athlete on the U.S. Freeski team. He is also the first transgender person to compete on the U.S. team. Jay came out in 2021 and since has had to balance being transgender and a professional athlete, a challenge in today’s climate.
2023 marks his first year competing fully on the World Cup circuit and he is excited to compete with other skiers at the top of their game.
Jay is also an activist who passionately advocates for queer people in sports. He is co-directing Weightless because he wants every young person to know that they don’t have to choose between being themselves and pursuing their dreams.
